Myrtle Beach Day Trips

Wilmington, NC

There is so much to see and do in Wilmington! From Battleship North Carolina to the Riverwalk and carriage rides, it is clear that Wilmington has budget-friendly attractions. Wilmington offers a lot of interesting attractions off the beaten path, like haunted tours, the Cape Fear Serpentarium, a micro-cinema and a professional soccer franchise. Locals and visitors alike will enjoy these quirky amusements.

Pawleys Island, SC

The Pawleys Island area is a great destination for the ecotourist. The area includes Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park and numerous bike trails. Shopping is abundant at The Hammock Shops and Inlet Square Mall. The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is a great spot for waterfront dining and nightlife. This “arrogantly shabby” region has both adventure and relaxation covered.

Georgetown, SC

Home of the South Carolina Maritime Museum and The Rice Museum, a trip to historic Georgetown can be educational and fun. Stroll along the Harborwalk and shop for local artwork. Dine on delicious homemade food at quaint restaurants. Georgetown is a quiet town with numerous indoor activities, so it may be a good place to visit on a rainy vacation day.

Charleston, SC

Take a haunted jail tour or visit the USS Yorktown. Explore the grounds of a plantation or shop the open-air markets. Have a local artisan craft you a basket. Dine on fresh seafood while listening to local musicians. Charleston has attractions that will appeal to both young and old. The rich history and culture of the city makes it well worth the drive.

Florence, SC

When you visit North Myrtle Beach, you are not far from concerts by world-renowned musicians, the circus, ice skating performances, and more at the Florence Civic Center. Race fans know Darlington Raceway is near Florence as well. A calendar jam-packed with live shows and festivals draws day-trippers to Florence.
