Freedom, Flyovers and Fireworks: Your Guide to Celebrating the Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach

Nothing captures the magic of summer quite like the Grand Strand during the Fourth of July. With countless festivities, stirring patriotic displays and fireworks galore, the Fourth of July is one of the most exciting times of year to visit the Myrtle Beach area. If you’re staying in an Elliott Beach Rentals property during the Fourth, be sure to check out these exciting events going-on up and down the Grand Strand.

Salute from the Shore

Make your way to the beach for the 10th Annual Salute from the Shore. Whistle, cheer and wave the flag proudly as you watch an awe-inspiring flyover by a fleet of vintage and modern fighter aircraft. This year’s flyover will include a fleet of F-16s from the 169th Fighter Wing at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. The event will start at 1 p.m.; running from Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach to Bluffton, SC. This cherished Fourth of July tradition is a can’t miss event for anyone in the Myrtle Beach area.

10th Annual Independence Day Race

Now in its tenth year, the annual Independence Day Race offers runners the choice of running the 5K. The race starts at 7:00 a.m. at Grand Park Lake and will take runners through the site of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, now The Market Common. All runners will receive a stylish race shirt and post-race snacks from Bojangles, Food Lion, and Peace, Love, and Little Donuts. Walkers are welcome and encouraged to participate. For more information about registration and race rules, visit the Independence Day Race website.

July 4th Fireworks Displays

It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July without fireworks. And we have fireworks in spades. Up and down the Grand Strand you will find massive, public fireworks displays all night long. Here are three of the best displays in Myrtle Beach.

Broadway at the Beach- The fireworks display will begin at 10p.m and will be shot over Lake Broadway. The display can be viewed from many areas around the complex, but popular locations include near each of the bridges crossing the lake.

Cherry Grove Pier- The annual Cherry Grove Pier Display will begin around 9:30 p.m. Guests can view the display from the public beach in Cherry Grove. Guests staying in a condo or beach house near the pier may also be able to view the display from the comfort of their oceanfront balconies.

Barefoot Landing- The Barefoot Landing display will begin at 10 p.m.

From all of us at Elliott Beach Rentals, we wish you all a safe and Happy Independence Day.

God Bless the United States of America!
