Hometown Friendly, Big-Time Fun: Fourth of July

Americans everywhere love to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence every year on July 4th. Join the many Americans that make the trip to North Myrtle Beach each year to celebrate this national holiday.

In the week leading up to July 4th, the Grand Strand hosts many events to honor this day and our country.Hot Summer Nights Fireworks in Myrtle Beach, SC

Monday, June 29th

  • Monday Nights Kids Carnival, 7 pm-10 pm – Every Monday night, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk’s “Hot Summer Nights” hosts a carnival with kids bands, inflatables, face painting, and more in Plyler Park.
  • Fireworks at Barefoot Landing, 10:15 pm

Tuesday, June 30th

  • Live Music, 8 pm-11 pm – Every Tuesday night, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk’s “Hot Summer Nights” hosts free live music at the “I Love Sugar” oceanfront stage in Plyler Park.
  • Fireworks at Broadway at the Beach, 10 pm

Wednesday, July 1st

  • Family Dive In Movie Night, 6:30 pm – Enter Myrtle Waves Water Park after 4pm for $12.99/person to see Teen Beach Movie
  • Live music, 6 pm-9 pm – Every Wednesday night, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk’s “Hot Summer Nights” hosts free live music on the “Oceanfront Stage” on 9th avenue and on the “I Love Sugar” stage in Plyler Park.
  • Fireworks at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk off 2nd Avenue Pier, 10 pm

Thursday, July 2nd

  • Live music, 7 pm – The Pizzaz Band will be playing a free concert at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach.
  • Music on Main, 7 pm – Free music on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach
  • Live Music, 8 pm-11 pm – Every Thursday night, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk’s “Hot Summer Nights” hosts free live music at the “I Love Sugar” oceanfront stage in Plyler Park.
  • Fireworks following the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game at TicketReturn.com Field

Friday, July 3rd

  • Battle of the Bands, 5 pm – Myrtle Beach Boardwalk’s “Hot Summer Nights” presents bands as they battle it out on the Boardwalk Stage.
  • Live music, 7 pm – Chocolate Chip & Co will be playing a free concert at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach.
  • Fireworks at Broadway at the Beach, 10 pm
  • Fireworks following the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game at TicketReturn.com Field

Saturday, July 4th

  • Independence Day Races, 7 am – 1 mile, 5K, and 8K races at Grand Park at Market Common. Register here.
  • Pawley’s Island July 4th Parade, 11 am
  • Murrells Inlet Boat Parade, 12 pm – The 32nd Annual Murrells Inlet Boat parade begins at the Garden City point and finishes at Morse Park Landing. More info here.
  • Independence Day Wine Fest, 12 pm – Live music and wine tastings at La Belle Amie Vineyards
  • Salute from the Shore, 1 pm-2 pm – Vintage military aircraft fly along the South Carolina coast to honor the armed forces. More information and schedule here.
  • Cupcake Contest, 2 pm-5 pm – Croissants Bistro and Bakery will be hosting a cupcake eating contest and festival. Information can be found here.
  • Surfside Beach July 4th Celebration, 6 pm – Info here.
  • Live music, 7 pm – The Mark Roberts Band will be playing a free concert at Celebrity Square at Broadway at the Beach.
  • Fireworks at the Cherry Grove Fishing Pier, 9:30 pm
  • Fireworks at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk off 2nd Avenue Pier, 10 pm
  • Fireworks at Barefoot Landing, 10 pm
  • Fireworks at Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, 10 pm
  • Fireworks at Broadway at the Beach, 10 pm

Sunday, July 5th

  • Murrells Inlet Cleanup, 8am – Help rid the inlet of trash and debris left from the weekend festivities. More information can be found here.
  • Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson, 11 am-3 pm – BMX stunts, live music, food, and more all FREE at the MB Harley Davidson store.

Tips:

  • Whether you plan on attending the events or not, traffic will be busy on the 4th, so plan accordingly.
  • Arrive to any events early; everyone in the area loves these events – parking and seating may be hard to find.
  • Do not set off your own fireworks! Setting off fireworks within the Grand Strand is illegal.
  • If you plan on sitting on the beach for the fireworks, be sure to bring a blanket or chairs.
