Salute from the Shore 2012

Salute from the Shore, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c3 group whose mission is to Honor America’s Armed Forces on Independence Day by Organizing and promoting a military flyover of the South Carolina coast this 4th of July.

Beginning in Little River at 1:00 p.m., F-16’s from the 79th Fighter Squadron “The Flying Tigers” stationed at Shaw Air Force Base will conduct a flyover of the South Carolina Coast.  The flight will cover each and every beach along South Carolina ending south of Hilton Head.

Come out and bring flags to wave and show your patriotism to America and the brave men and women who protect it each and every day.  All spectators are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and to offer their own individual salute along the beaches during the flyover.

The Salute from the Shore flyover can be seen at these estimated times along the South Carolina coast:

North Myrtle Beach 1:00 p.m.
Myrtle Beach 1:01 p.m.
Surfside 1:02 p.m.
Pawley’s Island 1:04 p.m.
Sullivan’s Island 1:08 p.m.
Edisto 1:10 p.m.
Beaufort 1:12 p.m.
Hilton Head 1:15 p.m.

Hilary is from Conway, SC and has been a lifelong visitor to North Myrtle Beach. She has lived in North Myrtle Beach permanently since 2009. A graduate of CCU’s History program, Hilary enjoys the local history and legend of the low-country as well as the modern growth of the tourism industry in Myrtle Beach. She works as a Marketing and Guest Services Assistant for Elliott Beach Rentals where she has been given the freedom to express her love and enthusiasm for the Grand Strand.
