North Myrtle Beach, World’s Widest Beach?

I found an old license plate when we moved into our house that my husband’s grandfather once owned. Being from another state I couldn’t figure out what they meant. I would go to Cherry Grove Inlet and at high tide you couldn’t even walk on the beach. The high tide reached the dunes and crashed violently into the rocks. Well, last summer North Myrtle Beach underwent a huge beach re nourishment project. Three million cubic yards of sand was placed along the coast—that’s enough sand to be placed on an area the size of a football field that would reach as high as the Empire State Building.

This year when you vacation here in North Myrtle Beach you will get to enjoy the wide sandy beaches again! The sand is again white & soft between your toes no matter what time of day or tide it happens to be. We may not have the world’s widest beach but it looks pretty good out there today and our beaches are ready for the millions of tourists that visit us every season. Book your vacation in North Myrtle Beach today!
