Mardi Gras

New Orleans is closer than you think. This year, many North Myrtle Beach area bars and restaurants are celebrating Mardi Gras with parades, live music, and food and drink specials. Here are some things to do this Fat Tuesday:

Barefoot Landing restaurants will host Mardi Gras parties. Castano’s Italian Steakhouse is hosting their second annual Mardi Gras party. There will be prizes for best dressed and best mask. Their menu will include special jambalaya, gumbo, king cake and hurricane drinks for the occasion.

Dick’s Last Resort will begin their 22nd annual Mardi Gras Parade at 5 pm. There will be an after party at Dick’s including drink specials and live music.

Broadway at the Beach will host a party centered around Fat Tuesday in Celebrity Square. Fat Tuesday celebrates Mardi Gras everyday, so you can be certain their party is going to be awesome.

The fourth annual Marshi Gras on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk will kick off at 6:45 pm with a parade. There will be cash prizes for costume contest winners. Restaurants along the Marsh Walk are offering great food and drink specials you do not want to miss.

If you prefer a more adult Mardi Gras party, take a short drive to Wilmington for the Mardi Gras Wine Festival. Enjoy tastings of more than 175 wines, six food stations and a silent auction. There will be live entertainment as well. Attire is cocktail or business. All proceeds benefit the Wilmington Rotary Club.

You may enjoy a quiet evening in on your North Myrtle Beach vacation. Be sure to prepare one of these delectable Fat Tuesday-inspired recipes in the furnished kitchen of your North Myrtle Beach vacation rental. Catch your own seafood for a lowcountry boil. Happy Fat Tuesday!
