Runners, get on your mark, it’s almost time for the 15th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon. The Myrtle Beach Marathon is set for Saturday, February 18, 2012 with post race party taking place at the House of Blues. USA Today listed the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach Marathon as one of the 10 Winter Marathons in which to participate so if you’re looking for a unique running experience and a fabulous destination then the Myrtle Beach Marathon is the event for you. The Myrtle Beach Marathon supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of South Carolina and the Horry County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Since its first year, the Myrtle Beach Marathon has assisted these charities in raising almost $3 Million.

In a ceremony dubbed locally as the “Academy Awards of Customer Service,” the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual I.C.E. (Incredible Customer Experience) Awards at The Palace Theatre on Saturday, March 5, 2011, to recognize 12 Grand Strand businesses & individuals that have raised the bar of hospitality. “The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes that service must be a top priority when it comes to promoting, protecting and improving business along the Grand Strand,” Brad Dean, President and CEO of the chamber said in a press release for the event. “We were thrilled to see so many nominations come in this year, and we’re excited to recognize and honor those organizations and individuals who uphold the highest standards of customer service.”
